Dream Weather

This has been a rough winter...ok rough for us Texans/Arizonans. Don't worry I am not expecting any empathy from those with much colder weather. But it feels like it has been three straight months of COLD. And with me being the wuss in cold weather that I am we found ourselves just longing (and praying) for warmer weather just to ride our bikes and be outside. Well it happened for a day or two a few weeks ago and of course since it felt like a mini milestone in the weather pattern I had to capture it to remind myself on the cold cold days that were just around the corner. So glad I did, I opened the pictures again and again just to see the sunshine!

Runner's World

Kennedy and I were in our own little runners world this past Saturday. She had the chance to do a 1 mile fun run for her age group and I was able to do a 5K...my first one, although I had wanted to run in one for awhile, just always ended up out of town or pregnant!

Kennedy did AWESOME. So proud of her, she loves to run and did great. In her age group for girls (7-8) she finished 8th out of 47 girls...that's my girl!

And I was able to run with my running buddy and good friend Shauna. She and I ran a ton after babies #2 and hadn't quite managed to get back in the groove after babies #3. She has a better excuse as hers is only 5 months old, not sure what my excuse is except I was waiting for her! But we started trying to run more a few weeks before the race and it paid off. We were excited to finish it without stopping, and time wise were pleased. Who knows maybe that half marathon is in the future somewhere???

Still smiling....that's always a good sign!

9 Months Old!

Happy 9 months Carter! What a busy month this has been for Carter! Carter seriously would win a trophy for giving the best hugs...my baby can wrap his arms around a neck and give the best hugs that would make even the worst of days seem way better. He has a way of making us all smile and laugh...he is a joy to watch and brings a lot of happiness to this family.

This past month Carter has been a busy little boy!

- 1st road trip

- 1st basketball game - loved it, especially anytime the music came on, that boy can move!

- 1st bike ride

- Waves to anyone who pays the slightest attention

- I think we are working on two straight weeks of sleeping through the night...whoo hoo. This my friends is seriously the longest it has taken for any of my children to sleep through the night.

- Figured out how to blink his eyes over and over again...

- Got a big boy carseat and LOVES it!

- Discovered how fun it is to play in cupboards

- Loves broccoli, turkey, corn, pineapple. Does not like kiwi and the verdict is still out on whole blueberries, loves the pureed ones.

- Can scootch on his belly to get to something as long as it's close. Loves to stand up on anything for the new view. His favorite place is looking out the front windows at the birds and trees.

- He is almost 20 pounds...about an ouce and a half short of the big 2-0.

I love the way I will be holding Carter on my hip and be talking to his sisters or Tim and he will literally throw his body to the front and bend his little head so it gets right in my eyesight view and gives the biggest smile. His way of reminding me that he is there, he is such a doll!

Not that long ago it seemed liked we were just bringing him home from the hospital...
