Friday Love

What I loved about today...

**waking up to the rain and the cool weather

**reading books early morning cuddled up under blankets with coffee in hand of course - LOVE

**watching B & C stomp in any puddle they could find in their rainboots - then get so wet it called for a mid day bubble bath

**watching them try to maneuver their umbrellas, open and shut 50 times and so excited to use them

**leaving my full grocery bags in the kitchen (all the frozen stuff had been put away) to referee a major meltdown by both parties mentioned above...and then assist in building a fort that is the perfect hideaway for this rainy weather.

**watching my kids eat their picnic lunch huddled together in the fort

**Brooklyn finding an oldie but goodie...Lite Brite. She couldn't believe I used to have one too

**Driving to dinner and taking turns sharing what we love about each other.

**opening forturne cookies and watching the kids get a kick out of what they say.

**hearing Kennedy's official coundown to Valentines Day update...officially FOUR days

**picking out a new paint color for the dining room (bye bye tan & brown, so long and I will not miss you!) AND being able to call the friend who runs over to check out the different skunk strips on the walls to help me decide and if I am going to circusy on this house :)

**working on Valentines cards with the girls while m&m's, popcorn, markers, tape and any other embellishment is strewn all over the table (and it is still there)

I realized today my house was a disaster. I started to think man, oh man what happened, it was just clean on Wednesday BUT then I realized all the things we did do today. So today I might not have the most organized, clean house but we did built an amazing fort, take time to stomp in the puddles, have a picnic lunch with my lil buddy.

A New Kind of View

Remember this VIEW?? circa 2010

Well this is the updated version...2012

Yes we "go there." It seems to me with boys distraction is the key to this whole potty training thing. Lots more potty pictures in your future. And yes, we have a pink potty (it was B's)...And Carter's clothes sometimes get put on pink hangers because I just grab and he has been know to drink out of a pink Dora cup and if he is feeling extra rebellious a purple tinkerbell cup but that's not too big of a stretch since he was spotted in his first purple accessory way back when...

You have come a long way again buddy. You just keep growing even though I want it all to slow down. You keep being comfortable with those pinks and purples...it will make you a good daddy and husband one day!

Brother Noah

The kids have been listening to a favorite, More Sunday Morning Songs (Veggies Tales) and Carter's favorite is Who Built The Ark? In the song part of the chorus sings, "Brother Noah built the ark."

So as we were driving home tonight from soccer practice Brooklyn starts off with this conversation...

B: Why do they call him Brother Noah?
M: Well, because God is our Father and we are all His children we can call other Christians Sisters in Christ and Brother's in Christ.
B: So, daddy's not my real daddy?
M: (laughing as quietly as I can) Yes honey, daddy is your real daddy. God is our Father in Heaven and for example because mommy believes in Jesus and has Him in my heart and Miss Shawna has Jesus in her heart I can call her my sister in Christ even though we aren't real sisters.
B: Kennedy is my real sister right mom?

AT that point I realized I wasn't helping, I was only confusing the poor girl. Tim and I got a good kick out of that later and lots of laughs. Love how their minds work.

This is what Brooklyn decided to do one afternoon while I was finishing my exercise video...she ransacked my closet and came out with these shoes to model. She has always had a thing for shoes! The girl is always finding something funny to do and laughing at herself or laughing with others. She was quite proud that she walked all the way out to the family room in these heels and as scary as it is she walked quite well...even better than me!

Inspiring

These friends...

Shawna, me, Shauna (running), Michelle & Beth

This night...Friday, Jan. 27, 2012

Artist...Natalie Grant (the first song on the playlist now). She is hands down one of my favorite Christian singers E-V-E-R

We also heard Anita Renfroe - do a search for her u-tube videos HILLARIOUS!

And the down to earth and real Lisa Terkeurst who gave inspiring ideas!

This is what I call a Girls Nite Out! We found out some of our favorite Christian women were going to be at a girls night out and so our group jumped at the chance to go check them out. We had a fun drive with some picnic dinners, lots of conversations, laughs and walked away inspired asking ourselves and one another some great questions. Can't imagine doing life without these women!
