We just got back from a trip home to Arizona and one of the nights we were in town we were able to take the girls to show them what goofy golf or putt putt was all about. Of course we stopped in the arcade first for some competitive rounds of basketball between Tim and myself and some skee ball with the girls. It was so fun being back there and being a kid again with our kids. Kennedy loved playing and she and Tim had a blast...Brooklyn was cold, hence the jacket AND hood in some pictures and just kept saying where did my orange ball go??? And the highlight for her as you can see were the M&M's at the end.
While we were there I remembered all the times I had been at this one place...the first and very significant time was my first job. I was only 15 and was hired to do kids birthday parties and work the snack bar in the evenings. The birthday parties ended up being my only responsibility after my dad found out that they had me cleaning the parking lot of trash (good times) at 11:00 at night by myself...that was the end of that. He walked in, spoke with the manager and said my daughter will not be cleaning the parking lot by herself at night again...GO DAD!
And then the second even more significant memory from that place was my first date with Tim. Since he didn't know the area, he kinda let me plan the date as far as what we did after dinner. And being the kinda girl I am I wanted to let him show off his skills that I know any guy would love to show off on a first date. So we headed to the driving range at this place. I think that's where he fell in love :), with me not golf!
And that night we found ourselves right back to where some of it started with our two sweet girls (and another baby on the way) introducing them to goofy golf, finding their balls in the dessert they hit too hard, swinging clubs everywhere and lots of laughs. And Tim turning everything into a bet :)...yes even he and Kennedy have side bets going on, but he is nice enough to give her a few shot lead going into it. It was a fun night as a family and one I hope we experience again!
