Out Of The Mouths

So this morning on the way home from dropping Kennedy off at school this was pretty much the conversation between Brooklyn and me:

(first a little background...this weekend I decided to be ambitious and start some preschool lessons with her each week, this week the lesson is on Cows and going over a letter, number and shape each week).

So we started talking about cows early (probably too early for the morning) but she told me what cows said, "Moo" and what they ate, "grass" and what they give us, "milk." So we are getting out of the car at home and she heard the birds talking away.

B: "I hear lots of birds mommy."
Me: "Your right B, lots of birds." "Do you think the birds and cows are friends?" (it's gotta be the teacher in me turning everything back into the lesson or topic of the day).
B: "Ya mommy, I think the birds eat the cows."
Me: "They eat the cows????" "I think the birds eat worms."
B: "That is so not cool!"

That pretty much is one of her favorite statments lately. Or "that's cool." It's gotta be the younger sibling thing but it cracks me up to hear this little thing talking about what's cool and not cool and her little attitude that goes with it.

And then continuing with the cows...on the way up the stairs to take a nap today we were pretending to be cows (oh the places you go with a toddler :))...

B: "Do cows have bums?"
Me: "Yes, cows have bums."
B: "Oh, cows have bums like me, daddy, mommy, KK, Nonie, Uncle B, Genia and Poppy mommy?"

And you wonder why I love staying home...cows, bums, and cool, it doesn't get much better than that!
