Summer 2011 Garage Pics

The day before school started I was determined to take some pictures of the kids...I had been meaning to do it all summer so you bet I was going to fit it in even if it was literally the last day of summer! It was 100+ degrees outside but it didn't stop the kids from bringing it...It doesn't always happen like that. It is usually twisting arms, threatening, bribing but this time all that was bartered was some swimming right after pictures and the secret this time was telling them there were two "sessions." 1st one was mom's choice of clothes and the 2nd...well the 2nd I wanted them to go pick out any outfit that showed me their personality and what they like right now and to surprise me. The girls were all over this, score one for that deal! And score we did with some fun pictures...

I cranked up my ipod out in the garage and they let their moves shine!
It definitely made for some fun and not so staged photos!

My beautiful 8 1/2 year old!

He ADORES her. She ADORES him (unless he is trying to get into her room when she has a friend over). She plays cars with him when no one else will. He looks for her first thing in the morning and is the happiest boy as she often will go upstairs to get him up at his first whimper on the monitor. Just the other morning she came downstairs with him and had even gotten him dressed for the day. She is an amazing BIG big sister!

She has an incredible love, passion and joy for life. I am amazed at her creativity daily (and her messes that follow) but isn't creating messy. And she is just too busy creating the next thing to remember to clean up the first. She has the biggest heart lately and that heart is constantly giving to others!

Show me YOUR stuff...

Car + Thomas = buddies forever!

So Kennedy...hair down, gym shorts (she would wear them everyday if I washed that fast) a new top from Nonie and her beautiful smile. Love "your stuff" KK!

I of course had a lot of blurry pictures with Brooklyn because of her dancing, posing, hair flipping...it was in full affect this day! She is very particular about what goes together and accessories are key. Notice the headband, necklace and you can't see them in these pictures but she paired this get up with her bright shiny new twinkle toes with NO socks!

I think I will coin this "the brooklyn pose"

Very excited to show me how old she almost is.

These are the same eyes he looks at me with when he knows he is in trouble...ohhhh it's hard!

The favorite book for the Summer 2011

I love your eyelashes...

I love how red and flushed your cheeks and ears get when you are hot...

I love this expression but most of all I love that I get to be your mama! Everytime I say Carter lately, he responds with, "yes mama?" Southern gentleman all the way! This of course can be followed up with throwing or hitting whatever is in his path...working on that one!

Such cute and fun pictures! Looks like you all had fun. And what a good idea to just put up a back drop and do them right in your own garage.
