Brooklyn's 1st Day

Brooklyn's morning started out SUPER...in her Supergirl pajamas how could it not??? She came down stairs on a mission...a mission to find her chalkboard note that is. She was ready...lives life ready for the next adventure, most of the time making that adventure happen herself. She teaches me! Last Friday she had met her teachers, toured her classroom on a scavenger hunt and giggled with FIVE little girls who all were in her preschool class last year. But this time she was READY for the real deal.

Quick shot before we take big sis to school

Then we came home for her own little 1st day memories!

Would any picture taking moment be complete without Brooklyn's take on poses for the camera? Absolutely not and I love that about her!

This picture makes me laugh...she had ripped off this piece from our bush and at the time I thought she just wanted some greenery in her photo :) well not Brooklyn...as we walked inside she continued carrying the"tree" and said I am going to give this to my teachers today for their 1st day. How could I even argue with that? She was dead serious...UNTIL she shook her head and said,
"Oh mom, I really should have captured a bumblebee and put him in a jar and taken him into class for them, ya mom that's what I should have done, ya know since we are the bumblebees!" The contemplation on her face was priceless as she looked around half expecting to see a bee flying by.

PRICELESS~ but her teachers had to settle for the "tree."

Introductions were made between daddy and "tree" as we met up with him before all
walking her into school.

B also ran into her little friend Samantha in the parking lot who started Kindergarten at her school this year. Sweet friends!

And her wonderful teachers! Mrs. E & Mrs. B who we are blessed to have the second time. Kennedy was in their class and it was FABULOUS!!

My last quick glance through the blurred glass of my girl and her curly side pony she loves already working...what a difference between 3's and 4's. They are professionals now!

Carter and I made a mad dash to a coffee date, just the two of us where we clinked our glasses (his a chocolate milk carton and mine a tall americano) to lots of days full of playing cars, walks to the park, feeding the ducks, reading, and painting! He half listened as he reached for my phone to catch a glimpse of his sisters picture on my screensaver and decided to lay a big fat juicy one on my screen.

This day he was asking a lot of where B went but was distracted enough by the bright pink icing that he was using to help decorate her cupcakes!

Brooklyn chose her favorite for that 1st day of school dinner...Chickening & Dumplings.
That's Chicken & Dumplings in regular language!

My favorite part of that day was picking her up and hearing her rendition of her 1st day! One of the priveleges in her class is that they can earn bees. When they receive ten bees on their bee hives they can grab out of the treasure box. I knew she was excited about this when she first toured her classroom so I was anxious to hear about it. So I asked her, "hey B tell me about the bees, did you or any of your friends get any today?" There was silence, and then a sigh..."it's not like I thought mom, it's complicated!" How is it complicated B? Well, it's just complicated in that I don't get them for what I thought I would get them for. I think everyone got some that day at the same time for group things and my girl likes her glory moments...simple as that!

Well Miss B...I can't wait to see you shine throughout your 4's year. You smile and dance like no one is watching and keep making those new friends on the playground. I can really see how much you have grown from last year and I couldn't be prouder! I pray you have fun, enjoy this special world of preschool, and most of all that this year GOES SUPER SLOW. I love you big girl and am so glad God made me your mommy!
