Coloring Easter Eggs

Kennedy: Why do they call it dye Easter eggs, it's not like the eggs die Mom.

K again: Why do we dye the eggs again, we don't leave them for the Easter bunny or anything?

And actually this question made me think...and the only answer I could come up with was fun...fun to stain our clothes and hands (and Brooklyn's face) before they wear their pretty Easter dresses to church, fun that Brooklyn likes smashing the eggs more than coloring them, fun that by the end of the coloring, the eggs are being thrown into the dye with it splattering everywhere (it only took me four years to learn to do it outside finally this year...yea no stain on the grout) and fun that it takes longer to hard boil the 2 dozen eggs than it actually does to color them. Ya, Kennedy that's it, we do it for fun. And because thankfully you and your sister are obsessed with egg salad and daddy and I like d eviled eggs!
