JOY on Easter

The Aftermath: shoes drying

Remember HERE when I said what happened next would go down
in Studdert Style Easter history??

Well, this is what happened. After I was happy with my pictures, I started helping Carter with water balloons. Next thing I know Brooklyn is at the side of the pool with Tim and I hear him say, "I bet you you won't jump in the pool with all of your Easter clothes and shoes on!" HA, if he thought he would get a big fat NO he asked the wrong daughter. I turned my head at this moment as saw her  rightly turned to him, laugh out loud and makes a full on dive into the pool, coming up from the cool water with the biggest smile on her face! I just stood there still wondering what happened...then Kennedy decides to join because it looked fun and who would pass up the opportunity to jump in with all of your church clothes on...c'mon! I of course grabbed my camera quickly and started taking pictures of the girls. I set my camera down to help Carter and next thing I know is my husband is behind me pushing me towards the pool. And YES my first thought was I just spent an hour straightening my hair this morning buddy :) Naturally my first though but his strength won over so I went crashing in the pool, shoes, jewelry, and STRAIGHT hair BUT you bet he came with me. I held on for dear life and thought if I am going in you are going in too. Carter, not one to be left out of anything, made his way to the steps quickly and waited to be able to jump to Tim. All I know is that looking around at my family this Easter 2012 and see us swimming fully clothed from head to toe in our Easter outfits made me the happiest I had been in a long time. Kennedy screamed BEST EASTER EVER at the top of her lungs before pencil diving her way into the deep end. Bummer that I can't be in the pool and take pictures too but I eventually made my way out to get the shots below of the rest of the Easter Swimming Service.

As we were drying off and laying shoes out to dry, I thanked Tim for not being too serious and for showing our family how to be crazy, silly and spontaneous like that morning. I saw the looks on my kids faces and the JOY of their parents swimming in the pool with our Easter clothes on and it was so simple but so full of JOY! The rest of the day was fabulous and I even EMBRACED my pool hair but this will by far always be the highlight and one I hope none of us forget!
