Gone Picking!

Check blueberry picking off the summer list and it's by far a FAV still! We headed out bright and early a few Saturdays ago to beat the heat and beat the crowd. We managed both and came home with 10.5 pounds of blueberries. They are dissapearing way to quickly now as they have found their way into quite a few smoothies, in muffins, pancakes, or JUST plain. Kennedy and I promise to make a blueberry cobbler before we run out though this year for sure.

It was funny to watch the kids as this has become a tradition at the beginning of every summer. The girls are getting GOOD and pick away. Carter only dumped his bucket once and then found that playing in the dirt was WAY more fun and that a stick can become an awesome sword for those "dangerous" blueberry bushes. And after eating handful after handful last year, he wouldn't touch the things this year?? Kennedy I think beat me or came close to picking the same amount, CAST and all. I am telling you besides that little thing called H2O, nothing has stood in this girls' way this time.

The girls could't wait to get home, make a smoothie and some homeade popsicles (our favorite RECIPE from last summer) and check this one off of our summer 2012 poster. Check Check...

cast and all this girl could work it!

Carter's blueberries that found their way on the ground...he preferred dumping the blueberries from one bucket to the other - way more fun that way!

my cute little picker who debuted her "summer haircut" - another post but I think I was
still trying to digest what we did!

Tim is all business at picking the blueberries. He calls us over when he
finds a "GOOD" blueberry bush.

you never know what you might find at the blueberry farm so it's a good thing we had Carter and his weapon of choice with us! ALL boy!
