Graduation Girl

We went into the last week of school with a Preschooler (man I love the Pre-K days) and walked into summer with a Kindergartener...sniff sniff. My baby girl is growing up and Kindergarten makes it official. Her graduation/singing program was on Tuesday, May 22nd and she was super excited for that last week of school. They had some sort of celebration every day, but the Tuesday night was the big night...I never like saying good-bye to preschool...there is something so sweet and innocent about it that I thrive as a mama in that environment and each time one of my kids leaves it makes me grow up and face the changes :-) and I don't always like to grow up! We had spent the night before in the Emergecy Clinic with Kennedy with her fractured arm (a whole nother post) so she was in pain and had a lot of swelling but the night belonged to Brooklyn and celebrate we did.

Brooklyn we are so proud of you these past two years. You have grown a foot and a half this year alone! Your face went from baby face to Kindergarten face before you even received your rolled up diploma. You loved so many things about preschool and I loved hearing your rendition of your days. You had your first "issue" with some bossy girls and getting blamed for things and in true B fashion you didn't like it or stand for it. You loved writing your name and have beautiful penmanship. Your smile lights up a room and your screams (both happy and mad) can shatter a light! We love you our little fashionista (what you wrote when asked what you want to be when you grow up). If anyone can do it you can!

one of the moms had a graduation gown and had taken it into the classroom that morning, had each child take turns putting it on and snapped a sweet picture and then printed and framed it for each child. what a thoughtful and amazing gift!

Avery and Tatum were two sweet friends this year

the BIG moment

Go Brooklyn, Go Brooklyn!!!

I lost it on the last song and the tears flowed...I feel like it was yesterday that she would walk the curb as a balance beam for her 1st year of preschool HERE

they continued their songs back in the classroom and presented each child with their alphabet books they completed and gave each one a special memory book filled with pictures and memories.

Mrs. Estopinal & Mrs. Bellflower who we were thankful to have again...
maybe they will still be around for Carter!

Couldn't pass up these orange flowers...the color stands strong as the favorite after THREE years

One of the many things I love about Kennedy is HOW supportive she is to her brother and sister. She is incredible. This night was no exception. She knew it was a special moment and she was beyond proud and so excited for Brooklyn. Her inflection in her voice is always spot on with encouragement.

Brooklyn's best friend, Raya would not miss Brooklyn's night according to her mom. So sweet of them to come and share in the celebrations. Shauna is the one I run with so I know why Brooklyn holds this sweet family in her heart, I do too.

Brooklyn is into her charm bracelet and had spotted some special charms she was eyeing. So Carter and I had gone to pick out four new ones for her 4's preschool and then each of us gave Brooklyn one little charm that night at dinner. She picked her fav Mexican restaurant which seems to be to consesus for many celebrations in this family.

Carter was very particular that he wanted to get B the donut charm - she LOVED it!

I think my tears would have continued to flow but Miss Brooklyn is staying there for Kindergarten! Hooray. We are excited for the small class size with TWO teachers and the Bible part to continue in school for one more year at least. It was the right move for her with such a big year ahead. Kennedy is sad she will miss seeing her sister every day but will see her the following year and Brooklyn my optimistic glass always full girl is pumped to be able to see Carter every day when he heads to preschool in the fall (WHAT???) and then see Kennedy the next year. According to her she gets the best of both. And I think from the tone of her voice as much as she would like to be the little sister looking up to the big sister she has a bit of protection going on in her to make sure her little brother is ok on the playground and in the halls of this special place.
