Summer - Bring it On!

The last day of school is EXCITEMENT in anybody's book! Kennedy had been waiting for the last day of 3rd grade for what felt like FOREVER! If you ask her she will tell you third grade WAS definitely NOT her favorite year. There was one slight problem though despite being such a celebrated and exciting day...one of her friends who has a HUGE birthday pool party every year decided to have her party the last day of school right after school. Normally fun, but not so much when you have a cast on and can't go swimming. Kennedy really wanted to go but knew sitting in the June sun watching everyone swim and have fun wouldn't exactly add to the last day of school party feeling. So we did the next best thing, had our own Welcome Summer party. She invited another friend over after school and I picked the girls up, took them to Sonic to get drinks and then home to have a little fun and make their own pizzas for lunch! Anything that didn't have to do with WATER.The girls ended up having a great day and sweet Kennedy, who thanks me a million times a day anyways (seriously she never forgets, it is a blessing to be the mama to such a thoughtful little girl) said "mom, this was the best day ever, I loved being able to come home and have our own little summer party!" Well Miss K I loved having you home and celebrating your year with a friend and your brother and sister and being a part of such a fun day. I am so proud of you and all you learned this year...It makes me think of my prayer I said for you when third grade was STARTING.

Good-bye 3rd Grade...

Long time friend Madison - we walked in the building and Madison was right there. It made me smile because these girls started the first and last day of school picture tradition way back in Kindergarten.

These two were my little buddies together every Monday and Friday. We filled our days together with lots of park time, bike rides, painting, crafts and playdates.

They insisted on stopping at this log and asked me to take their picture before making our way for one last park date with the three of us!

When we got home we all got the paints out and got to work on our fun
welcome summer sign for the girls.

thank you Pinterest for this fun idea!

Hello 4th grade - seriously FOURTH grade. There is no way I am old enough to have a 4th grader.
I just hope SUMMER 2012 goes so slow...I already start crying thinking about it and I am having second thoughts sending Carter to preschool. S-L-O-W!
