the fourth**!!**

The fourth this year started out bright and early this morning with two little girls who couldn't sleep any longer because they were so excited for the parade. The parade did not dissapoint although as you can tell by pictures Carter much preferred it with his ears covered! He is not into loud noises of any kind whatsoever and makes it clear when his hands stay glued to his little ears!

family picture: what happens when you try to take one in the middle of the parade

Papaw drove his car in the parade and was carrying the Grand Marshall this year...he had to stop the parade to talk to the kids and give them their candy!

We ended the day with friends, dessert, a kickball game, fireworks and sparklers, a late night bath to wash away all the dirt for Carter & Kyle while the big kids and dads were finishing up the rest of the LOUD fireworks. The boys ran inside faster than I have ever seen them run! And then a late night swim in the pool! Tim and I looked at each other tonight and smiled thinking what a fun day it was...just the right mix of parade, bbq, swimming, sun, family time and friends.

this was the 1st year the girls got to do sparklers!

Each time Brooklyn had a sparkler in her hand she would walk around like this with her hand on her hip like she was modeling. It was the cutest thing ever!

When we asked Carter what his favorite part of the day was he said:

at the parade mama when the horses pooped! But I didn't like the street cleaners

after they were too LOUD! Such a boy!
