Pre-Vacation Practice

My friend Shauna and I decided to throw in a little day trip to the beach a few weeks ago. I thought it would be perfect to get the kids excited for our beach vacation. We can get to the beach (Galveston) in a little over an hour so it would be a short drive for a fun day. Tim was out of town for the week so it was the perfect mid week fun trip. Shauna and I had everything we needed for a great day trip, from the canopy tent that their family had just bought that we broke upon trying to set it up - wish we had someone taping us trying to keep this thing from blowing away/upside down. We were laughing at ourselves. Love that girl...we just kept laughing and looking around to make sure not too many people were watching. The plan was to just spend a chunk of the morning there but we were having so much fun we didn't leave till later in the afternoon. Kids had a blast together and I love being with a friend who loves and plays with my kids as much as I do and vice versa. She and I were just two big kids that day having sand fights with the kids, tackling them in the water, playing games and building sand castles.

I knew after watching Carter LOVE the water, the sand and running on the beach he was at the PERFECT age for a week at the beach. I told Tim I couldn't wait to take him!

I think it's safe to say we are ready for our beach vacation after this quick trip!
