It's Beginning to Look A Lot

Like Christmas everywhere EXCEPT the weather here! We are in shorts, tanks and swatting off mosquitoes...this time last year it was snowing. Nothing, not even weather stops the Christmas music in this house, or the Christmas movies and Christmas candles. I still have Pumpkin Patch pictures, pumpkin carving, fall festivals, Thanksgiving, a fun visit from Poppy and lots of birthday celebrations to post but Christmas is taking center stage right now. The sights and sounds around and inside the house are undeniable...check out these few:

Can you spot the different item in the picture. Found this sight the other day while I was cleaning the table!

We do stations at birthday parties, not normally daily but this year for Christmas we have a new station...the glue gun station set up permanently for the next month for all the broken ornaments!

Life and Christmas with a busy toddler is interesting this year. His eyes are in awe of the Christmas tree and all the lights. He loves when you ask him what Santa says and he replies Ho Ho Ho and claps. All of the lookie loos are just too irresistable right now but besides the tree being hit once and only once with the plastic blue golf club, he is doing pretty good.

Some other common sights and sounds around the house right now...

The grocery cart is no longer filled with little plastic food but Christmas books for one of Brooklyn's many stores throughout the day. That girl is going to do something big one day, something involving store and fashion. With the amount of times we play store or bag something up it's gotta be BIG!

The girls heading off to go have a doughnuts with daddy morning!

What a difference a year makes...last year Carter sat in his bumbo and didn't move (my tree appreciated it) but I love seeing him paint some wooden ornaments. His first one, a tractor which he kept saying chug chug!

This little guy, Zippidy has been quite the entertainment this year. We are having a blast with him! Kennedy already had to write one letter to Santa making sure he knew that we had a baby in the house so that if Zippidy was touched Santa knew it wasn't the girls but the silly baby who doesn't know the rules about him losing his magic. Santa wrote back and reassured her that he knew about Carter and told her that Carter was fine and Zippidy wouldn't lose his magic :) so all was right with the world that day because of that letter, thank God!

Loving December, the JOY and busyness it brings and the simple
reminders about what it's really about.
