It took all of 56 minutes to fall back into mom mode instead of vacation mode here at the Studdert address! I quickly looked around and saw Tim watching the golf and the girls lounging in the chair giggling while playing the ipad...they might still be in vaca mode but moms know all too quickly how much it takes to "unpack" from a week vacation to start the school week the next morning bright and early. I see all their backpacks still filled to the brim with barbies and sandy shells, coloring books and dull crayons. Piles of laundry and even more piles of stuff looking for their home... By now Tim is totally unpacked, me...not so much! One versus four doesn't leave a lot of competition and I don't stand much of a chance. Besides I do piles, lots of piles it's how I unpack and I can tell by the crazy look on his face as he walks by he doesn't much understand my "method of unpacking" can't say I blame him!
The dishwasher still called to be emptied from the morning we departed and the sink now stood full of new dirty dishes waiting.
The once beautiful mother's day flowers from my FIL sat half dead stinking and the sand that sits in the bathtub bottom I sadly realize is from the days in the sand box before we left instead of the familiar beach sand that we brought in with us from the time spent playing on the beach. That's it, I'm done and I want to go back...I miss vacation mommy already!
