Crazy to think that 14 years ago during soroity rush, there was a girl who saw me from afar and thought I looked real snotty and reported later that she never once saw me smile that entire week...she soon realized this same girl who she never saw smile had a license plate that said 4VRSMLN :).
Crazy to think that 14 years ago, ONE week after the previous crazy, that as a stranger she consoled my dramatic sobs and tears and heartache that I didn't get the "house" I thought I was supposed to be in and invited me back to her apartment (because I was still living at home) to change my clothes, trade outfits for the night out and laugh while finding out all about each other. That was the night I knew she would be a friend forever and I was where I was supposed to be!
Crazy to think that 13 years ago we would run into each others rooms that were only seperated by a teeny tiny bathroom/shower and share way more than clothes. Our sharing became all about the good days, tuna, dreams, the wedding story & baby story shows, drama with boys, family and everything in between!
Crazy to think that 11 years ago she endured my Cabo mishap, the chic whose biggest nightmare is throw-up (What happens in Cabo stays in Cabo except for that damn video evidence she got...of course I was friends with the only girl in college to have a video camera in the late 90's).
Crazy to think that 9 years ago she was one of the first people I called to tell her I was pregnant and then greet her with hugs and tears as she met me at my house with a pregnancy book.
Crazy to think that 7 years ago I stood up smiling right next to her as her matron of honor at her wedding to her husband who as her boyfriend had started running with me down at the ASU campus not because he liked running but because he didn't want me running alone at night!
Crazy to think that 3 years ago I snapped this picture of my two girls and her son on my first visit to Seattle as a mom...what a change from the few visits in college that consisted of shopping, going out, new years eve party nights, more shopping, starbucks on every corner and more more shopping.
And the craziest of all is that this weekend, almost 14 years later I snapped this updated bathtub picture of the kids now (playing hide n seek)...what a change!! The two babies from the previous picture aren't such babies anymore...now they both have very strong opinions and make sure and share them with each other and everyone else in sight along with a few shoves and pushes. I now added a "baby" to the mix and the little preschooler that smiled brightly in the first bathtub picture who was proudly wearing her princess stick on earrings was around the corner in her room doing her own thing as a beautiful grown up 8 1/2 year old. Wow have times changed...but I am loving every minute, every memory and every photograph that tells the story of our friendship, the good times, the hard times, and the growing times.
Thanks for the weekend...can't wait to get my hands on your pictures, the only real evidence that you were here. Besides the almost gone white wine bottle left in the fridge! Here's to Aunt Shawna & Aunt Tracee!!! What a weekend!
