The picture that tells the truth...to the picture taking mama :)
My little rescue hero
Love Love that he is literally looking up to these boys...in awe...they are our middle school neighbors and he just stares and watches and says hi when he can yell loud enough. They are always super cool with him, always saying hi and giving him fives. And deep down I know it won't be long before he will be in the back row!

4 years later.They are neighbors too...it's a small town!

Rapunzel's hair glowed - thanks to another brilliant blogosphere idea HERE - and thanks to the wonderful dollar store glow sticks!
The Finale: I am pretty sure it is hands down the highlight of Halloween at our house. The dumping, sorting, trading, mixing, checking and sorting again. Most of it already went to work with daddy but the joy of getting and collecting it is a wonder to watch!
We had a great Halloween. Carter was the king of trick-or-treating this year. He totally got it, didn't really like the idea of the residents giving him the candy especially when he could totally do it ALL by himself and dig his little hand in their and pick way more than they would give. He definitely had his manners (the kid is incredible, not sure how but he is) but the funniest part came after the people gave him his candy that's when the fun began! He would stop and start asking them questions about the inside of their house, like what's that, or ooohhhh that's awesome (pointing to some furniture), some times he even tried to walk in their house, but the icing on the cake came at the house where he said, "what's upstairs? can I go upstairs and play?" I found myself saying to him as we were rocking and praying that night, now you know Car you normally don't take candy from strangers or you don't go into people's house. I couldn't see his face in the dark but when he asked me to sing "Cars song mama" (that would be our latest lullaby Carter style - Life is a Highway) I knew it went straight over his head.
Kennedy said it was the best Halloween ever and I pretty much saw the back of her all night long as she was on a mission with her big group of friends (other moms were keeping up with them). We held back not trying to rush Carter. And poor Brooklyn was totally caught in the middle. She wanted so badly to keep up with the big girls, but halfway through realized mom and dad weren't right at her side and freaked. She said she wanted to go home and spent the rest of the night gripping my hand, and worried about her sister (even though we could still see Kennedy from where we were). Both girls have a thing about all of us being together, it's rather sweet and I have to say I take after their heart - even on Halloween. So my biggest smile came as we all gathered our stuff from the block party and while pulling the wagon ride home K says, I had so much fun but I am glad we are back together and I can't wait to go home! Until next year which by the way Brooklyn has already figured out what she wants to be - a Rockstar - but if this year is any indication of what's to come she will change her mind 10 times between now and then.
