First Day of Pre-K

It seems like just yesterday my August was filled with agonizing thoughts about THIS...and here we are a year later with a totally different experience! Well almost different, we had a boy and a mama that were both a little apprehensive, excited but only one of them cried AND it wasn't the preschooler!

The whole week before when we would drop the girls off at school, the car door would close, we would scream and wave our goodbyes like crazy people with the windows rolled down, Carter would turn to me and say, "it's just you and me mama!" Loved hearing him say that.

The night before this is what our kitchen chairs adorned - it's official THREE backpacks full

Planes lunchbox was the chosen one this year and he was admiring it one last time before checking out what mama packed

Crockpot Oatmeal for the oatmeal loving boy (delish and done when we woke up in the morning!!) and a special happy first day phone call from Nonie contributed to this SMILE!

Carter with "his girls" before they headed off to school that morning

This is the part I started getting a bit choked up...Tim was going straight into work after and so Carter rode in his truck and I followed behind...he looks so grown up here and so excited for him!!

This is the part that was so cute...and right after this my friend Dawn looked at me and asked how our morning was and I started to choke up and she came over to give me a hug and I said, "Stop, please don't but I had already lost it, yes right there in the cubby zone but thank God I am one who always has a pair of sunglasses on my head because I just pulled them down and went about as if I was as cool as ever! He hesitated for a brief second before finally choosing a seat and than happily colored away.

I knew this year would be great, wasn't worried about sending him and I knew he would love it - I also knew that sending my last baby off to school would hit me. So thankful for that year last year and thankful for this bright, brown eyed, talkative, happy, joyful, car loving, book lover, friendly and sweet boy held my hand until he sat down and happily started talking to his new friends. I made it out the door again before the sunglasses had to come down one more time and I walked out not making eye contact with anyone and followed Tim to the car. He just smiled at me and did call and check on me a few times that first morning.

The infamous photog shot through the glass window that all the parents squeeze in to see

The tradition continues and Carter gets his own sign!

Happy 1st day of Pre-K to my favorite 4 year old in the world!!!

Congrats Carter on starting Preschool!!! He is looking so grown up....can't believe he looks almost as tall as Brooklyn! Tracee, I pray you are doing okay. I know that is a day I am not looking forward too. Home school is looking pretty good right about now. :)
