Carter turned 3 months old!
I love these pictures because they show how big Carter is getting. The rolls on his legs, his belly and he definitely has a double chin which is so cute! He is now almost 13 pounds. Carter is a joy each and every day and he has definitely completed our family.
- You can tell one of his favorite "toys" to play with are his hands and his feet. His hands are everywhere. He puts both hands above his head and talks with his hands all the time. He has definitely become more and more disinterested in the pacifier, but he has found a replacement already, his whole fist or as much of it that fits in his mouth.
- He is so aware of everything that is going on around him. Although he tolerates the screaming and shrieking of his two big sisters like it's no big thing. He must have gotten used to it in the womb! His face lights up when daddy comes home and when his sisters stop dancing, running, and playing long enough to stand RIGHT in front of his face and talk in very high pitched voices to him. Brooklyn calls him baby still and CJ and Kennedy talks to him like he is her baby. But my favorite moments are when I am still enough to sit there and watch them all interact and I just smile and am filled with joy. The pride that this is my family and the thankfullness like none other.
- Carter is a great napper and put himself on a flexible routine while we were in AZ which was nice because he just fell into it. Carter can put himself to sleep very easily which is a blessing with the older girls. He is still in the cradle in our room but when school starts and routines kick into high gear I will move him into his crib for naps only. For the most part he was going 8-9 hours at night straight which was heaven. A few nights here and there of him up a lot but he goes right back down.
- Learned to roll over from his belly to his back. He is a tummy sleeper so it was a big surprise when we walked in one morning and he was flipped over smiling at us. He loves to push up on his arms and look all around before falling asleep.
- His smiles are big and plenty which is such a reward each and every day. He is quite the babbler and we can carry on long coversations.
- He discovered how to blow bubbles and drools ALL the time till everything around him is wet.
- We have caught him "singing" as we sing to him before sleep. He loves his monkey aquarium and is mesmerized by it.
- He decided he wasn't a happy camper in the car while in AZ and treated us with a version of the baby screaming opera for most of the car rides towards the end of our trip. But I don't blame him because I hated the car in AZ too with it being so darn hot. He has since changed his mind and is ok with it again now that we are home (Thank you God).
- Carter's favorite place to be is in my arms or held. I am loving this part knowing this is the last baby and have gotten really good at doing things with one hand. He does love his kick and play bouncer and playmat still and has gotten much more active in it. And he still loves the sling which makes grocery shopping easier and being out and about if he is tired and wants to be held.
He loves looking in the mirror and talks to to the "other" baby in it all the time.
Highlights of this Past Month:
-1st plane ride. Carter did awesome. He slept for most of the way there and home.
-Met grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and everyone in between in AZ.
- We discovered Carter will sleep anywhere when he is tired. I have a whole post of some pictures of that but the funny one was when I took him in the pool one day and I looked down and he was conked out while we were swimming and continued to sleep for 45 minutes.
-We think his eyes are trying to change colors. He was born with blue eyes but they look like they are slowly changing to brown.
And just a little quirk only a mommy would appreciate...When he sits across our lap he crosses one foot over the other and the one that is always on top he curls the toes :)
