We met her teacher on Friday and what a difference a year makes. The confidence of going back to the school, excited to see all her friends and check out who was in her class. At one point she was about 10 feet in front of us and looked back at me because I guess I was going too slow (have no clue why with my over packed ginormous diaper bag, a baby and stroller and a two year old who wanted to be held at the same time). And in that moment as she looked back her face was a mixture of excitement and annoyance that I was holding her up to get to her class.
So of course tomorrow will be filled with the whole family walking her to her new class and saying good-bye to what feels like the longest day of school ever (miss the shortended days already) and with that my throat already gets a lump in it and I start thinking of all the times when she was a baby...eating her first popscicle...purple in fact. Her favorite activity was drumming on the pans with a wooden spoon in the kitchen next to me, and I remember swinging her every evening in her little tykes red swing that hung on the patio and she would fall asleep for a little cat nap. I just feel like it was yesterday that I wrote this and now it's on to the next chapter.
There will be lots of pictures tomorrow of Kennedy's special day but for now here is one of when it all started!
