Can only mean one thing...Carrie Underwood is in town!
A couple of weeks ago we surprised the girls and took them to their first ever concert, Carrie Undewood or as Brooklyn used to call her Carrie Underwear. We asked them if they had any ideas of where we were going...
We pulled up and Kennedy saw the big screen on the front of the arena and said look mom, Carrie is in town, wish we could go. We didn't say a word until we got out of the car and started walking. Their faces were priceless and we had such a good time.
That girl can put on a concert! And it was awesome to be there singing our little hearts out, even if we were out of tune and LOUD we brought it! We sang along to all the favorites and ones we listen to over and over again in the car. The ones that Carter now knows and shakes his hands in the air listening to the beat. I loved seeing my girls dance in their seats and just enjoy it!!
I did forget about the opening acts though and how long it takes, my last concert was a LONG time ago but Brooklyn managed to make the time pass quickly. In the meantime she made friends with EVERYONE around us! The three cute college girls in front of us were her best friends by the end of the night and she even asked them if they were friends with her mommy now :). If we were friends I would say can I borrow those cute little tiny dresses and cute cowgirl boots you have on oh and your pre baby bodies too! Seriously gotta get me some cowgirl boots! And my adorable husband looks at me and says, boy I know who I would take to a concert if I were single...funny buddy! But seriously after enviously looking at them and comparing my getting ready routine with theirs....like me rushing to get everyone fed, cleaned up, bathed, baby ready for sitter and me laying on my bed to get these three baby hips into my pre baby jeans and making sure I didn't have yogurt in my hair and that I did this time remember to put on mascara and put on deodorant VERSUS them taking an hour to straighten AND then still curl their long extensions, jump right in their short mini dresses and the freedom to be at a concert where they weren't yawning because it was past their 10:30 bedtime and not thinking of all the stuff like lunch making, potty taking, diaper changing routines that consume my days! AFTER all that I still WOULDN'T trade my life in for theirs at all. Maybe a night out here and there with my hubby to throw caution to the wind but right back home to those diaper changing, potty taking, lunch making days. Oh and maybe I would move faster if I got me some of those cowgirl boots after all! And the funny thing is I know those girl were looking at our family thinking that that's what they are hoping for one day...because I remember when I was that college girl dreaming of the days when I would be married, own a home and stay home to take care of beautiful babies...well here I am so I will continue to ENJOY my too tight jeans and crunchy yogurt hair and every second of it for it always goes way too fast!
Didn't mean to ramble...So here is how we ended this fun surprised filled night! Two sleeping beauties that rocked their first ever concert. And let me tell you ladies, this won't be the last concert your mom and dad will be accompanying you to!
