Brooklyn was the sweetest big sister...she got up and decided to get a jump start on another homemade present for Carter. She was the queen of homeade presents this year. She made him his very own touch and feel book. It was awesome, and even more awesome is that she came up with it, created it and wrapped it all on her own. I didn't even see it until it was done. She is incredibly creatuve and blows me away every single day!
Carter loved the present from "my B". The word my precedes B and KK in Carter world. That is how he refers to them whenever he wants to know where they are.
Then these two decided to up the creative ante and create a birthday stick for Jesus! Loved it. Brooklyn has a birthday stick in her preschool class that is decorated and they use it to sing to the birthday child so of course Jesus needed his own birthday stick and Carter was her creative side-kick. What did I tell you...A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Sorry I am biased, I know!
Puzzle time for these two working on a gift from some special friends. She is the most patient, loving and encouraging big sister to him. They have a special bond!
What would Christmas Eve be without a trip from the garbage truck...thankfully too so we can have empty bins! Carter watched and then ran out to give them some Christmas cookies and coke with help from daddy. Gotta take care of the garbage man on Christmas too!
Traditional reindeer food...with more glitter than ever!
This picture just makes me laugh!
Next up decorating sugar cookies...Carter took this very seriously,
as you can tell by the next picture too.
Christmas Eve Service...love this one of Carter and my mom. He is her buddy when she is here. I wish I had more Christmas Eve pictures but somehow grabbing my camera while trying to keep a 2 year old from lighting anything on fire (especially the little girl's hair in front of us) with our Silent Night candles is something I haven't quite mastered yet! I just enjoyed the moment and not starting a fire.
Time to write our Santa letters...
How special that Nonie was the one to read a bedtime story on Christmas Eve!
One of the highlights of the night...we were in the family room getting ready to read and without turning around I yelled, "hey Carter what are you doing?" "I drinkin Santa's milk mama!" It was the cutest and most priceless thing ever. You bet his sister's made a mad dash over to rescue the milk but not before mama made a mad dash to capture the moment.
Cold and rainy again just like last year when it came time for reindeer food sprinkling.
No better way to end the night than dancing. The girls snuggled up sleepover style worried that they wouldn't go to sleep because of the sheer excitement. And I snuggled up rocking Carter singing his favorite Christmas songs, Glor-ia, Jingle Bell Rock and Silent Night thanking God for all of it!
