Zippidy joined our family 3 years ago...Zippidy is our Elf on the Shelf. This year though was kinda funny in that the girls were getting older and better at finding him...you were even able to hear them mumble or shout out loud that his hiding spot "was too easy today" and then they would panic the next morning when they couldn't find him thinking that he was hiding extra hard since he heard them say it was way too easy. The icing on the cake this year was that Carter was totally into it! He would wake up in the mornings a bit after the girls were up and they had already found him and I would be making breakfast and all of a sudden this scream followed by a Zippppppidy...FOUND him mama. He was so proud. Zippidy only hid in the same spot once this year which beat last year's record of 2. And this year was simply because Daddy touched him...a bug landed on him and rescue hero Tim decided to get the bug off Zippidy. But Z came back with a very important note asking the girls to please remind their daddy not to touch him, even for a bug! Tim and I only got in one argument because of Z... not too shabby for the late nights and lack of sleep this month.
And best of all Zippidy came in with a party from the North Pole while we were in AZ! We were in AZ the day after Thanksgiving this year so he didn't dissapoint and arrived with flare for the kids to find that first morning.
He even managed to fly from Nonie's freezer the 2nd morning we were in AZ which happened to be the morning we took off and was waiting bright and early the next morning for the girls sleeping in their American Girl Doll bed.
Zippidy is one resourceful little guy...he must have talked to our friend's The Smiths Elf
and stolen this idea from him...so clever and the kids LOVED it...mommy wasn't so sure
as there was a trail of cheerios from the letters to the cereal box in the panty that must have been squashed 15 times. We all got a good laugh though!
Until next year Z man...you definitely bring lots of smiles to our December traditions!
Thanks for the memories!

Looks like you all had fun with your elf this Christmas! I love him in the little people manger holding baby Jesus and also the North Pole Breakfast. That is a great idea to welcome him back. Charlie might have to steal that one for next year! Praying that things are getting better for you all.
