For the past three years we have spent Spring Break in AZ surrounding ourselves with family, friends and the incredibly beautiful and DRY weather. There is always something to say for being back home in March. I get excited each year...I can picture what the sky will look like, I dream of running on my own with the desert background instead of the trees, I can see cousins playing at park after park and meeting up with my dad for ice cream and Tim's family for some good ol Mexican food, well AZ Mexican food. Airline prices and Tim's work schedule kinda helped make our decision for us this year...and honestly I thought with us just having spent Thanksgiving out there it would be OK. Operative word there... OK! Let's just say as much fun as we had with Nonie and B, Spring Break will be spent in sunny AZ hopefully from here on out! I missed being at my mom's house and spending the mornings drinking coffee out on her cute little patio. I missed checking out from the daily house duties to run outside for an impromptu soccer game, I missed meeting up with all of my cousins to catch up and watch the next generation take over and keep on growing. Not to mention I was kicking myself for not being home with my dad just having gotten out of the hospital and having a heart procedure. A big hug would have been the perfect medicine!
Home will never get old, no matter if we were just there. It also makes me appreciate here so much when I come back to it...if that makes sense. Despite the rain we had at the beginning we made up for it with plenty of Apples to Apples games, some movies, bowling and watching Uncle B whip up a mean smoothie. K got to show Uncle B her new hoop moves and Carter was his little shadow. It was nice having our down time and just hang out! It did make the week move a little slower, but their time here was too fast!
The girls were jumping for JOY in the first picture on that first Friday night...Last day of school + Nonie equals a mighty high jump! Poor Carter came down with the 48 hour flu bug that hit him hard, but he was smiling through the fevers and throw up anyways. Can't wait to share more real photos of our fun week with them. The girls made a list of some things they wanted to make sure we did and each picked a date with Nonie and it was cute to see what each of them picked. Off to make lunches for our back to reality week.
