We had a quick and fun visit with Nonie that started our March off the right way. It was the first time she was going to meet Miss Mazie. We had a great time and even the kids got some extra extra fun time because K ended up being sick with an eye infection on Monday and Tuesday so she stayed home and we hung out and kept Brooklyn home too.
First up - nail time for the girls...a definite treat
Lunch date at Panera afterwards
The girls both had gift certificates that they had wanted to use for awhile to Mudpie to paint pottery. Carter loves this place and has two pieces that he proudly displays on his shelf. He is so proud of them and takes it quite seriously. Today he painted a motorcycle bank.
He must have asked the ladies a million questions on the baking process and the oven. He even got a tour and kept asking how many days for his piece to bake until he could take it home.
Thanks mom for bringing a dose of AZ sunshine and lots of love and hugs to Texas. We love the weekends you are here and could get quite used to it - especially the part where you told Tim and I to leave for the night :-). Long story but at one point there was a big chance that Nonie was going to take Mazie home and love on her for awhile. This puppy thing had been quite an experience in our house and Nonie was going to come to the rescue again(a perfect solution in my mind)!
In the end Mazie stayed with us and things have turned a corner - you would be proud mom! But the only one affected that Mazie was about to leave was this one...
This girl has a big heart but her heart is even bigger with enough room for Mazie and loves her the mostest. Thank God for Brooklyn or else this mama would have gone Crazy with a capital C. This was right before Mazie got a massive haircut that day too in preps of going home with Nonie so she isn't so furry and lion like anymore.
Update: She is finding her place in our home and we are learning to love dogs, well we are learning to love Mazie. She is a sweet dog I just never imagined the work of a puppy on top of three kids and our in and out days with the million and one pick ups and drop offs. Let's just say I asked Kennedy the other day if I was a better mommy before we had Mazie. She turned, looked at me, paused and then said, "Honestly?" That should have been my first clue...I didn't need to hear the yes because I knew it. Mazie has brought out a different side of me for sure and I have total and complete sympathy for why we didn't have and keep a dog until I was in college and why my mom always said she would rather have another baby - ditto that for this mama!!
