Our little man turned 4 months old today...all I can say is I am loving him more and more, drool and all! He is seriously the sweetest, most laid back, smiley, happy blessing ever (well besides the older two) but I love how he gurgles, talks and stares his way to my attention all day long, and he gets it. I just can't get enough of his little personality and it's a good thing because since he started waking up again two times a night it makes me forget how tired I am (well most of the time).
And as you can see he is WAY more interested in the sign now that he is older. It's funny to watch how that has evolved from the earlier days.
Carter has been super busy this past month...
- Laughs...his first real BIG laugh started three days after he turned 3 mos. old and he hasn't stopped since. He laughs a lot and I LOVE IT! We will be walking and he will just burst out laughing. I look at the girls and ask if they are doing anything funny or silly to make him laugh and they look at me like I ask them if they saw aliens :) no mommy, what are you talking about? He is a very smiley baby too, it doesn't take much and I love his little gummy smile...it's perfect! When we go to kiss him too he opens his mouth for us...a little young but I hope it's not a sign of him being a ladies man!
- Carter started sleeping in his own crib and did great from the beginning. At first it was just naps and then one night (after a long night the night before) I decided to put him down in his crib knowing that he would be up probably before we went to bed...well nope, he slept until the next morning. I was so anxious that he was in his crib and must have checked on him 20 times.
- Speaking of sleep, Carter is the best napper...sleeps great during the days but I think the trade off is he is up one to two times a night. I know there will be a day of a full nights sleep and I think I have mastered getting up to feed him still half asleep which is nice...the talents you attain as a mother AMAZING!
- I think he was in size 1 diapers for less than a month and jumped up. He has his 4 mos. check up next week so we will see how big he is then. But last time I weighed him he was at 14 lbs, 11 oz. People still say how little he is...I just think he is long and lean but I love his little rolls on his legs.
- Carter is getting louder and louder, some screeches, new sounds that actually sound like sounds, instead of gurgles. He loves to put toys in his mouth or anything he can reach for that matter. It's fun to see his focus change from last month to this month with his toys. He has definitely found his fingers when he is trying to go to sleep and prefers that over the pacifier. Even when I am holding him over my shoulder if he is tired, he finds his fingers and is out.
- He is getting super strong at putting his weight on his feet when we hold him up and he lifts his head up so high when he is on his tummy he flips himself right over.
- He LOVES to read. When I open up a book either for him or to read to his sisters his body starts to shake and his arms flap and he doesn't stop moving.
- He is so flexible up to this point and I pray that this little part of his personality lasts. Sometimes I just look at him and want to say sorry buddy you are the third :). The poor guy is moved from his bed to his carseat so many times to take Kennedy to school, pick her up, or to take Brooklyn to dance it makes me sad. But I keep telling myself it's all he knows!
And I have to say I have had the best time dressing and shopping for my girls but it is a blast this time to find and shop for boy's clothes. There are so many cute things...I thought it would be harder and not as fun but it's the opposite. And because the girls passed down things I think I got a free ride with Brooklyn so Carter is reaping the benefits of my not shopping for awhile :).

He is too cute!! A couple of months ago I swore he looked just like you, but now he is all Tim. I am sure that will change again shortly! I wish I could meet him while he is still small. He is growing so fast!!
