Waiting on the stairs for the GO AHEAD...Carter not quite awake yet

still not awake for Carter man - the girls woke him up and you can tell!

I had read a neat article in Focus on the Family last year that featured a family with a tradition where the kids opened the FIRST present of the morning together and it was a baby Jesus figure (we use out Little People Manger baby Jesus) and it is a reminder about what the day is really about, Who we are celebrating and is the significant first present before the rest!

The only FIRST face I captured that morning...I struggle behind the camera (focus yes :-) but go back and forth between trying to capture the moment and wanting to just watch the moment and so my fingers forget to snap and snap and snap because I get excited just watching them, especially this morning and the first look.

These were the two Cars 2 cars that were consistently asked for with each letter, each visit to Santa and each mention of the whole What do you want for Christmas conversation.

This was a common scene that morning from Carter - I have about 4 pictures of him in this stance. Almost stopping to survey the scene for just a minute and take everything in. Cracks me up!

One of the sweetest moments of the morning - Brooklyn was anxious to give Tim his present. A new watch and she was so conscientious about what to give each person and really truly things about it, spends her money so unselfishly and gets so much joy out of giving even at 6 that it's a blessing to watch it all transpire!

She is so happy because she got to give him something he loved and he is so happy to have a new watch!

Christmas morning was full of smiles, hugs, thanks, coffee, presents, Christmas parade, Christmas music, Merry Christmas calls, oh and a tornado watch and warning to take cover - ya know just an ordinary Christmas morn. This year we had already celebrated with Tim's dad so we literally had no coming over and didn't have to go anywhere, except to stay in our pj's which we did all day long. We did lost power but had already finished breakfast and had a few more presents to open. The rest of the day we spent eating (Split Pea Soup - yum), relaxing and just playing, playing and more playing!!
